Depending on the distiller type the water you produce may have an electrical conductance of ca. 1 μS/cm. Directly after distillation it is sterile but without proper equipment and storage methods it looses sterility. Distillation is a slow process so it forces collecting and storage of water that is to be used later on. Unless it is properly secured, volatile substances (carbon dioxide, ammonium and various organic substances) will dissolve in it and pollute it again.
