40 of the 53 people that qualified for the Great Final participated in the event, which took place on December 12th, 2009 in Warsaw. According to experts’ opinion the test was difficult.
We were happy to notice that contestants possessed great aquarium knowledge and the fact that contestants’ average age was relatively low. Emilia Turek won the contest – currently she’s getting prepared for a high school final exam (the natural sciences profile) in Jędrzejów. Emilia’s passion began four years ago when she got a guppy and 45 L tank as a gift. Currently Emilia has two smaller tanks as well and they house betta, wrestling halfbeak and glowlight tetra.
How did she gain such a deep knowledge? Emilia answers humbly: “3-4 years ago I visited Zoomarket fairs in Warsaw. Underwater world started to fascinate me. I read “Magazyn Akwarium” magazine, books, I started to surf the Web, participate in Internet forums...” Congratulations Emilia! We are sure you will succeed during your final exam as well.
