Paweł Szewczak welcomed almost ninety shrimp fanciers – they were predominantly forum members, although several guests from Austria, Belgium and Byelorussia visited the event as well. Ireneusz Budzik from Tetra and Paweł Zarzyński who represented Aquael spoke next – they both spoke on products that may come in handy when keeping crustaceans. On-line report by Andreas Karge on his trip was the first in the series of lectures. Karge travelled to Hong Kong in 2008 in search of the new species. The visitors have also had an opportunity to listen to a speech authored by a Black Tiger shrimp expert – Gregor Morzinek. Unfortunately the author couldn’t visit the event himself. Dominik Perkowski busted the myth of Red Nose not proliferating in aquaria and told us how he managed to achieve the unachievable. Magdalena Ryba tried to „infect” us with her fondness for a controversial tank inhabitant – hydre. We have also managed to get in contact with Chris Lukhaup, who is currently staying in Chile. He added some interesting remarks to the Hong Kongu report. After the lectures and discussions were ended, it was high time to announce the results of the contest for the best shrimp tank. 5 awards and 1 distinction were granted this year. Piotr Wróbel won. The official part of the meeting ended about 6 PM. Nevertheless, the discussions were held until the late-night hours in one of the clubs in Warsaw. Another meeting, definitely attracting yet more visitors, will take place next year.
